My road to Windows 10 - an (un)expected journey

I am using Windows 10 for quite a while on several machines since it was released and available as a free upgrade. Since then I experience more or less troubles and things I find really annoying. Most of the time it didn't bother me at all as I am using the machines frequently. Now as I updated my productive machine I have to deal with it at another level.

This is the start of a new blog series about a certain topic. It's not bashing, I just want to demonstrate issues - and there are a lot. It's also not about fundamental issues like security leaks or performance problems. It's more about usability and consistency.

Startmenu Flapping

Let's start with a simple example of what you can expect in this series.
Scenario: a 1080p resolution with a startmenu modified to appear a bit bigger than the default size. As you can see I have several groups to organize my shortcuts. Though there is enough space even if I reduce the size to a certain amount the groups are re-organized - in a way which doesn't make sense at all.

Severity: annoying, inconsistent
