Today the ICS community got this important information via common social networks aka Skype, Twitter and Facebook:
To be honest: I expected that sooner or later. We talked about the situation inside IBM months ago. Now and then I hereby state: things may change and we have to re-arrange them. Good things must come to an end and may be restarted elsewhere. Working 17 years for a company are quite an era and deserve respect and appreciation.
My personal thoughts are quite simple: I will miss you, Amanda, but on the other hand I wish you the best of luck and success with your new role at Salesforce! I am pretty sure you will succeed there as well.
That doesn't mean that we won't meet again some day somehow - I am quite sure we will.
We first met only two and a half years ago in Bremen at ICSUG/Engage in Ghent. Since then there were several user group meetups in Prague, London, Antwerp and Oslo just a few months ago. I will remember the foolish times in bars and other casual places as well as really serious talks aside venues.
For the community around the IBM Champions we couldn't wish for a better person than you to keep the peeps together. So thank you very much for your effort during the years - we all wish you an awesome next chapter in your work-life!
We lose a real professional, but we all won a good friend!
Hugs!
